Why steak and red wine go so well together ?

When it comes to culinary pairings, few things hold a candle to the classic combination of a glass of good red wine with steak.
The reason red wine typically pairs well with red meat is that red wine tends to be higher in tannins. While on their own, tannins can feel drying, but they are a good complement to the rich fattiness that can be found in a well marbled cut of meat.
Meats contain compounds that increase production of dopamine, a so-called “happy hormone” that elevates mood, and we all know how a great glass of red wine can make you feel the same.
A fine red wine, paired with steak compliments the palette and tickles the senses and the taste buds.
At La Cabana, we have select an excellent collection of red wine to pair exceptionally good with our steaks.
